Lee Ann Veal Bio
Lee Ann B. Veal is currently the director for EPA’s Radiation Protection Division in Washington, D.C. In this role, she has responsibilities for radiation related public communications, radiation protection science, regulations and environmental standards, and radiological emergency response and preparedness. Each of these activities require input and cooperation with other federal departments and agencies. Lee worked in other positions at EPA including as Director for the Center for Radiological Emergency Management, and as the Ambient Air Monitoring Team Lead. Outside of EPA, Lee also worked at the Department of Homeland Security, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Dominion Energy. She holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and is a member of the EPA Senior Executive Service.
