
WHS SoCal celebrated its fifth anniversary. We expanded our geographical boundaries to include the state of California and changed our name to California Women in Homeland Security (CA-WHS).




Women in Homeland Security, Los Angeles was born. We soon realized the need for a professional organization region-wide and changed the name to Women in Homeland Security, Southern California (WHS SoCal).

A group of women came together looking for a community of professionals in the homeland security arena. That year, we held our first event to gauge interest in establishing a professional organization and the community responded with a resounding “yes!”
