Brandy Welch
Brandy Welch is a Senior Planner and Project Manager at IEM, bringing over 17 years of expertise in emergency management planning. Her specialization includes after-action reviews, mass care, and threat/hazard identification and risk assessments. Before joining IEM as a consultant, Ms. Welch dedicated more than eight years to the American Red Cross in the Los Angeles region, where she focused on collaborative mass care planning with local jurisdictions, government communications and coordination, and advocating for inclusive strategies to support the needs of individuals with disabilities and others with access and functional needs. Additionally, she spent three years managing airline collaboration, terminal evacuation and family assistance support planning at a major airport and remains a member of the Los Angeles Airport Disability Advisory Committee.
Ms. Welch is passionate about fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders from the private, non-profit, and governmental sectors to ensure that local jurisdictions are well-prepared for rapid and effective recovery in the aftermath of emergencies. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Sam Houston State University and is a recent graduate of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Emergency Management Advanced Academy (NEMAA).
