Barbara Mariscal

Barbara Mariscal is the Senior Disaster Program Manager with the American Red Cross, Los Angeles Region, where she supervises 5 geographic response areas, supports in the implementation of the response programs in the communities, and supports in further developing partnerships with emergency management and first responder groups. Prior to being the Senior Disaster Program Manager, Barbara supported as the geographical manager for the Northern Valleys, Eastern Kern, Inyo, and Mono County. Under this role, she helped further develop the volunteer engagement in creating various tabletop exercises, mentorship programs, and getting to know the volunteers at a personal level. She has held various lead operational positions in response to Woolsey Fire, Saddleridge Fire, Tick Fire, Ridgecrest Earthquake, and Bobcat Fire. She has also deployed in a lead capacity to national relief operations in Louisiana, Texas, Hawaii, and Northern California. Barbara’s interest in disaster and volunteer management developed during her AmeriCorps term in 2013, where she supported in the individual recovery for families displaced after home fires.

Barbara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside in 2013. In her free time, she likes to enjoy camping and hiking in the Eastern Sierras with her dog and partner, spending time with family and friends, and checking out many of the great restaurants in LA.
